HACKATHON

1. Objective

The main goal of this hackathon is to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the music industry by introducing cutting-edge technologies. Participants will have the chance to brainstorm, design, and develop tech-focused solutions to common challenges faced in the music industry.

2. Scope

The hackathon focuses on various aspects of the music industry such as:
  • Live Performances and Virtual Reality: How can we enhance the live concert experience with technologies like VR, AR, etc.
  • Music Production: How can AI, machine learning, and IoT transform music creation, mixing, and mastering?
  • Distribution & Streaming: What innovative solutions can we implement to simplify music distribution and streaming?
  • Music Education: How can technology revolutionize music learning and practice?

3. Format

  • Pre-Event Workshop: A week prior to the main event, there will be workshops for participants on topics like ‘Technology in Music Industry’, ‘Entrepreneurship in Music Tech’, etc.
  • Kick-off: The hackathon will start with a brief introduction, followed by problem statement presentation.
  • Hacking Period: Teams will have 48 hours to work on their solution.
  • Final Presentations: Teams present their ideas to the panel of judges.
  • Winner Announcement: The winners will be awarded based on various categories such as “Most Innovative”, “Best Use of Technology”, “Best Business Model”, etc.

4. Participants

The event is open to everyone – musicians, tech enthusiasts, programmers, entrepreneurs, designers, and music industry professionals. Teams can be formed prior to the event or at the kick-off.

 

5. Judges & Mentors

The panel of judges will comprise successful entrepreneurs, tech experts, and renowned figures in the music industry. Mentors will also be available to guide participants throughout the hackathon.

  • First Place: Cash Prize, Mentorship opportunities, and a chance to showcase their solution at the music festival.

Theme: Music Education & Learning - This theme could be about leveraging technology to enhance music education, like interactive sheet music apps or instrument learning tools.
